CFT – (Compassion Focused Therapy)

Compassion focused therapy is based on scientific research on both physiological and neurological studies, along with the evolutionary theory of Humans. Looking at survival instincts, motivations and drives. There are three systems in our brain that motivate our actions and these are

  • Threat system
  • Drive system
  • Soothing system

CFT teaches an individual how to build their soothing system which is responsible for regulating the threat and drive systems and as a result reduces the adrenaline in our body. By mastering these soothing techniques an individual is then able to regulate their emotions and intellectually problem solve from a rational and compassionate disposition.
